Information use when only browsing the site Individuals only browsing the site, reading pages, or downloading information (not volunteering information) will have only the following non-invasive components collected: * The Internet Protocol (IP) Address and domain name used. IP address are an identifier assigned either to your Internet service provider or your computer. This address can be translated to determine the domain name of your service provider (e.g. company.com or xschool.edu). Generally, the Sheriff's Department will only determine a visitor domain name if a security issue is suspected. * The type of browser and operating system you use * The date and time you visited this site * The web pages or services you accessed at this site * The web site you visited prior to coming to this web site.

The information listed above is for information and statistical purposes only. The Sheriff's Department may use this information to create summary statistics used to assess highly accessed information and pages to assist in determining technical design specifications, and/or assess system performance or problem areas.

Additionally, wycosheriff.com uses software programs for the purpose of monitoring network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage. Except for authorized law enforcement investigations and the security purposes mentioned elsewhere in this notice, no other attempts are made to identify individual users or their usage habits. Raw data logs are used for no other purposes and are scheduled for regular destruction.

Information use when you volunteer information

If choose to participate in a survey, send an email, or perform other transactions using wycosheriff.com, the following additional information may be collected: * Your email address, and contents of emails sent through wycosheriff.com - for purposes of providing you with a response. * Information volunteered in response to a survey or through online forms - for purposes identified by the survey or online form. * Information volunteered by participating in an online transaction with the Sheriff's Department - for purposes of completing the transaction only. The Sheriff's Department strives to collect the minimum information necessary to comply with applicable law or provide the requested service. The Sheriff's Department does not sell, rent or otherwise distribute visitor's information, including electronic mail addresses, to any outside company or organization, unless legally required to do so. This applies to information that may be collected on the wycosheriff.com site and on that of any third party with whom the Sheriff's Department contracts to provide Internet related services.

Information Security

The Sheriff's Department has implemented security measures and systems into the design, implementation and day-to-day operation of its portal, underlying servers and networks. The Sheriff's Department progressively implements new security measures as they become available on the market. Security measures are primarily to identify and/or block unauthorized intrusions, upload or change information or otherwise cause damage to wycosheriff.com.

Use of Cookies

Cookies allow information to change as you navigate through wycosheriff.com. Two types of cookies may be used, "session-only" and "persistent". The type of information voluntarily submitted to fulfill your request varies by transaction and may include your name, address, phone number, e-mail address, social security or federal identification number, credit card number and expiration date, and/or driver license number. The Sheriff's Department cannot control the use of cookies by sites outside of wycosheriff.com. If you choose to link to a site through wycosheriff.com, the Sheriff's Department cannot control their use of cookies and this privacy policy will not apply.
