Requires skills necessary to successfully interact with inmates and enforce the rules and regulations of the Detention Center. Also responsible for ensuring the rights of inmates are protected under the United States Constitution. Must be able to write clear, concise, detailed reports.

High School Diploma or GED, must provide copy. Must be 21 years of age and good moral character. Must provide a copy of valid driver's license, birth certificate, and DD-214 if prior military service. Experience in law enforcement or correctional field preferred, but not necessary. College courses in criminal justice field desired. Successful applicants must pass the following tests: ABLE, MMPI, and a Polygraph examination.

Responsibilities include assisting in the admission and discharge of residents, participating in the organizing, directing, and evaluating of the activities of the shift, ensuring all records are accurate and complete before transferring responsibility to the next shift, and providing support and structure for detained youth through fair and consistent enforcement of rules, application of consequences through active listening and understanding.

A high school diploma or GED is required. Must be at least 21 years of age. Three credit hours of psychology preferred and or one year of experience. All applicants must provide a copy of birth certificate, high school diploma or GED, DD-214 if applicant has prior military service, and driver's license.
